| Problem |
The job required that a hammer that met 3 requirements: 1) it had to run well on a 1:2 batter, 2) it had to be lightweight, and 3) it needed to be clean running. The job entailed driving twenty 14", 50 ft long concrete piles for the New Orleans Levee Board near Hwy 11 and the Bayou Savauge Floodgate. Weight was a major consideration as the job had to be done with the cranbe working off mats spanning the pile excavation. |
| Solution | The I.C.E. 42S and the I.C.E. swinging leads provided the right combination of heigh energy and light weight. the 42S Diesel was mounted with the trip facing the outside of the leads to allow for easy starting of the hammer. |
| What the Client Says | "I'm impressed with the performance of the hammer and the low weight-to-energy ratio, plus it's clean running with very low exhaust emissions." |
