In Danville, PA, the Geisinger Medical Center is undergoing a major expansion to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region. The foundation work for this project is no small feat. Contractors Whiting-Turner, Coastal, Brayman, and Nicholson Construction are all on-site, collaborating to install a combi-wall King Pile system; a critical structural element designed to stabilize the ground and support the new build. The combi-wall system is especially suited for challenging soil conditions and deep foundation requirements, making it ideal for this high-profile hospital expansion. 

To execute the most recent portion of work, these expert teams are currently utilizing a range of Comacchio Drill Rigs rented from their local International Construction Equipment (ICE®) Sales Representative. Known for their precision and reliability in geotechnical applications, these multi-functional rigs are paired with durable Hydrauli-Flex™ hose assemblies, which play a key role in keeping the equipment running smoothly, especially under the demanding conditions of continuous operation. 

Interestingly, recent excavation efforts have revealed remnants of the hospital's original 1914 construction, including old columns and signage, adding a layer of historical significance to the job. A tower crane is expected to be installed soon, marking the next phase of vertical construction.
