Historic Hinchcliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ is getting an incredibly special and overdue renovation. This is a $94 million redevelopment project that is designed to breathe new life into this notable piece of local sports history. This iconic stadium was once the home to the New York Black Yankees and the New York Cubans in the 1930s and 1940s. Making this stadium an integral piece of our history, which is the foundation of our great country and her diverse people. The new restoration will add back the glory and functionality and will including a 12,000-square-foot exhibition space and a top-of-the-line restaurant dedicated to Negro League Baseball and the history of baseball's greats.

When the foundation work was beginning, Nordic Contracting Inc. turned to the specialist at ICE® to recommend the proper sized vibratory pile equipment and technique. Nordic chose to use an ICE® 14D Pile Driver/Extractor to place the steel sheet piles to best manage the stadium's crumbling foundation and reinforce the structure. The ICE® 14D is the most powerful driver in its class. The reason is due to the compact sizing compared to driving capacity ratio. The ICE® 14D enabled this contractor an advantage with it is compact sizing for tight spaces and yet powerful enough to drive the new foundation piles deep. 

The citizens of Paterson, NJ are looking forward to this grand reopening, which will also include senior housing, parking, and novel places for the youth of the area to relax among a historical site full of legends, a true American story.
