Green “Monster” at the Lake

The town of Oakville was founded in 1820 to build a marina community on Lake Ontario for shipbuilding and the shipping industry. Since then, the community has grown while honoring the early development days. Oakville's waterfront on Lake Ontario features beautiful scenery with two natural harbors, and a system of river trails that run through it. Featuring wooded areas, meadows, museums and formal gardens, there is plenty to see and do along the waterfront. During the summer months many events and activities are available, and the harbor accommodates many boating options. The river not only provides great hiking for all skill levels, but it is also a great place to fish. It is also the perfect habitat for brook, brown and rainbow trout, and you can also spot chinook salmon, smallmouth bass, panfish and carp. People have even sighted a legendary lake monster in the area including famous French explorer, Jacques Cartier the first European to navigate the St. Lawerence River. He claimed to have spotted the creature that the native Seneca called Gaasyendietha, now called Kingstie, in 1534.

Today, in the same area, you can spot a new ICE® 33 Vibratory Driver/Extractor installing a seawall. The ICE® 33, with its patented Dual-Pull™ Suppressor provides maximum vibration isolation during driving and is being utilized to guide the 35' (Ft) steel sheets firmly to bedrock. Keep your eyes peeled for both Kingstie and the vibrant green of the ICE® 33 Hammer! International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®) is excited to be a part of the strengthening of this areas seawall and wishes everyone the best of luck in spotting the ICE® 33 and the ever-elusive Kingstie!
