Grandview Lake, the largest private lake community in Indiana, attracts permanent and seasonal residents with its 400-acre recreational lake located near Columbus, IN. Opportunities for playing a wide range of watersports, hiking seven miles of trails throughout the surrounding woods preserve, and taking in picturesque views have entertained adventurers since its establishment in the 1960s. With an average depth of 26 feet (maximum of 80 feet), the lake's crystal clear water comes from three major tributaries of watershed runoff and natural springs. 

The Grandview community welcomed another thrill-seeking family as Deaton's Waterfront Services constructed the walkout basement of their new lake house. Waterfront houses typically feature walkout basements so that people can conveniently step out and enjoy outdoor living spaces. The team had previously attempted to push the pile in the ground with their excavator, but after a few failed attempts, they turned to their local ICE® pile driving expert for a more reliable solution. To retain soil and prevent sloughing, the forty 15' (ft) sheets along the planned excavation perimeter were easily secured using an ICE® 22D Vibratory Driver. Thanks to the efficiency of the ICE® 22D recommended by ICE®'s sales and service team, damage to the client's machinery was avoided and a safe installation of the sheets took only a minute each, saving the Deaton crew on production time and costs.
