In the heart of South Brunswick, NJ, the Operating Engineers Local 825 Union is raising more than just steel; they are elevating safety and preparedness for the entire NJ/NY region. At their state-of-the-art training facility, a new repelling tower has recently been constructed to help simulate emergency scenarios, like repelling from wind turbines or offshore platforms onto vessels. This hands-on structure will serve as a critical training tool for dock-builders and equipment operators who face high-risk environments. Though modest in scale, the impact of this short one-week foundation project will echo for years in the lives it helps protect.

The crew behind this build wasn't your average team. For this project, the site was manned by seasoned professionals, all trainers themselves whose decades of experience made the job look effortless. Throughout the process, these expert industry veterans moved with quiet precision. Every pile was placed with purpose, and every move counted. Their reputation precedes them, and their performance on this project only reinforced why Local 825 remains a cornerstone of skilled labor in the Northeast.

To seamlessly drive the foundation piles for this project, the Operating Engineers team chose to rent an ICE® 33 Vibratory Hammer paired with an ICE® 140 Clamp. The setup was ideal for the mix of H-Beams, short sheet piles, and four pipe piles required for the tower base. As the ICE® 33 provided consistent power and reliability, the ICE® 140 Clamp ensured secure handling throughout. Hydrauli-Flex™ hoses were also used to maintain optimal hydraulic flow and flexibility, contributing to the smooth, uneventful driving process. Selected for its proven performance and ease of use, this powerful equipment selection was perfect for a short-duration, high-impact job like this.

Thanks to the knowledgeable crew and dependable ICE® equipment, the foundation was completed on time and without issue. The Local 825 Union now has a vital new training asset that will help prepare workers for real-world emergencies. International Construction Equipment extends its sincere appreciation to the Local 825 team, not just for choosing ICE®, but for the work they do every day to keep our infrastructure strong and our workers safe. Here's to building more than structures, here's to building confidence.
