New ICE® 14D Enhances Seawall
April 4, 2025Last fall, Bird Construction expanded its impressive fleet with the acquisition of the cutting-edge ICE® 14D Vibratory Hammer. This latest addition has already been put to work on a significant project: driving 35-foot-long permanent coated steel sheets for a seawall in Belford, New Jersey.
The importance of this seawall project cannot be overstated. It represents a critical initiative aimed at protecting the coastal area from erosion and storm surges, ensuring the safety and longevity of the local infrastructure and community. Bird Construction, with its robust portfolio of equipment, including an ICE® 44B, two ICE® Model 14 Vibratory Hammers, and an ICE® I-8v2 Diesel Hammer, are ready for any deep foundation task they may encounter.
Over the years Bird Construction has established itself as a leader in the construction industry, known for its dedication to quality and innovation. The use of the ICE® 14D, along with the other equipment in their arsenal, exemplifies their commitment to employing the latest technology to achieve superior results. The ICE® 14D, in particular, was essential for this project due to its efficiency and reliability in driving the steel sheets needed for the seawall. The implementation of hydraulic hose technology in this equipment significantly enhances precision and control, boosting overall performance while contributing to a safer and more efficient work environment. This is particularly vital for sensitive environmental projects like this one.
By fortifying the shoreline, it protects local homes, businesses, and public spaces from potential damage caused by severe weather conditions. It also ensures the continued operation and accessibility of the nearby ferry, which is a vital transportation link for the community.
The valued partnership between ICE® and Bird Construction has been instrumental in the success of this project. By pairing ICE®'s innovative equipment and Bird Construction's expertise and dedication, they have proven to be a winning combination. Congratulations to Bird Construction on a job well done and for their ongoing commitment to excellence in every project they undertake. International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®) looks forward to our next endeavor!
