A New Landmark on the Board

Positioned at the end of the Atlantic City Expressway, the new billboard rising along Baltic Avenue adds a fresh visual landmark to one of the most iconic entry points into Atlantic City, New Jersey. Anyone familiar with the classic Monopoly board will recognize Baltic Ave as one of the game's earliest, and most memorable properties, making this location a fun blend of real‑world infrastructure and nostalgic Americana. Though small in scale compared to major civil projects, billboard foundations in high‑visibility corridors like this one demand precision, speed, and reliable equipment to minimize disruption to the steady flow of traffic entering the city.

Agate Construction was chosen for their ability to streamline heavy foundation work, bringing the same efficiency and technical rigor to this build that they apply to major New Jersey infrastructure. Known for their optimized operations and well‑coordinated crews, Agate consistently delivers fast‑turnaround projects without sacrificing accuracy or safety. Their experienced team brings a wealth of heavy-duty foundation expertise to the table; including a proven track record with New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) bridge and shoreline projects that ensures they can handle the complex soil stabilization and pile driving necessary for a large-scale billboard.

To support the installation, Agate Construction utilized an ICE® 44 Vibratory Hammer equipped with bias weights to drive a single 42' (in) diameter, 45' (ft) long pipe pile. Bias weights are occasionally added to vibratory hammers to increase downward force and improve driving efficiency, which is especially helpful when dealing with heavier casings or soils that benefit from additional mass. Not every contractor opts for the added weight, but Agate had the crane capacity to handle the setup, and the configuration proved effective. The pile advanced in just a few minutes, making this a smooth, uneventful one‑day job for the Agate Construction team. The hammer was also paired with Hydrauli‑Flex™ hose, designed to maintain consistent hydraulic flow and reduce heat buildup during continuous operation, ensuring optimal performance throughout the brief driving sequence.

With the foundation now secure, the billboard will soon welcome visitors as they roll into Atlantic City; another small but meaningful addition to the city's vibrant landscape. International Construction Equipment extends its appreciation to Agate Construction for their continued trust in ICE® products and for executing yet another efficient, well‑run installation. Their professionalism keeps projects like this moving quickly, safely, and with the kind of precision that benefits both the client and the community.
