The Port of Los Angeles, the busiest container port in the United States, is currently undergoing a transformative expansion at its Fenix Marine Services terminal on Pier 300. This $52 million project is designed to significantly increase on-dock rail capacity, reduce truck traffic, and improve cargo flow efficiency. As global trade demands continue to rise, this expansion is a critical step in modernizing infrastructure to support sustainable growth and maintain the port's competitive edge. 

CS Marine, a leader in marine construction, was selected for its proven ability to deliver complex waterfront infrastructure under demanding conditions. With a reputation for precision, safety, and innovation, CS Marine brought its deep foundation expertise to the forefront of this high-profile project. Their involvement ensured that the structural backbone of the expansion was built to the highest standards of durability and performance. 

A cornerstone of this undertaking was the installation of deep foundation piles to support the expanded rail infrastructure. CS Marine wisely utilized an ICE® 50B Vibratory Hammer, rented from International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®), to drive steel H-piles and caissons into the harbor floor with speed and accuracy. The 50B's robust hydraulic system was essential to the operation, delivering consistent power through its advanced Hydrauli-Flex™ hose configuration, which maintained optimal pressure and flow in the demanding marine environment. This system minimized downtime and ensured safe, efficient pile driving, even under the challenging conditions of the busy port. Now completed, the piles driven by the 50B form the structural foundation for new rail lines that will streamline cargo movement and help reduce emissions.
