Shoreline Secures Hollywood

Along the waterfront neighborhoods of Hollywood, Florida, a major resilience initiative is underway as the city upgrades aging seawalls to meet new tidal‑flood‑protection standards. Rising sea levels and increasingly frequent tidal flooding have placed pressure on coastal communities throughout Broward County, prompting Hollywood to launch a multi‑year shoreline improvement program extending through 2026. These upgrades are essential for protecting homes, roadways, and public infrastructure from chronic flooding, in alignment with the region's updated seawall ordinance and long‑term resiliency standards. The work spans multiple shoreline segments around North Lake, South Lake, and the Intracoastal Waterway, forming one of the city's most significant coastal‑protection investments to date.

To execute this critical portion of the project, the city brought in Shoreline Construction, a marine contractor known for its precision in tight residential environments and its experience with seawall replacement across South Florida. Their team specializes in sheet‑pile bulkheads, shoreline stabilization, and marine access logistics; skills that align perfectly with Hollywood's complex waterfront conditions. Shoreline Construction's reputation for efficient mobilization and high‑quality workmanship made them a natural fit for a project where both community impact and construction sequencing must be carefully managed.

Supporting their production on this project is an ICE® 28C vibratory hammer, selected for its compact size, smooth vibration control, and strong performance in the soft to medium soils common along Hollywood's tidal lakes. The 28C, paired with robust Hydrauli-Flex™ hoses, is driving steel sheet piles for the new seawall structures, enabling Shoreline Construction to maintain steady progress even in narrow residential corridors. Its fuel‑efficient operation and quick setup have proven especially valuable as crews move between multiple small shoreline segments. The controlled vibration output of this hammer also helps protect nearby homes, docks, and utilities, which is an important consideration in densely developed waterfront neighborhoods like this one.

As Hollywood continues strengthening its shoreline for the future, both the community and International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®) extend their appreciation to Shoreline Construction for their dedication to this essential resilience effort. Their work not only safeguards local properties but also supports the city's long‑term vision for a more flood‑resistant waterfront. ICE® is thrilled to play a role in this transformation and looks forward to supporting Shoreline Construction as they continue delivering high‑quality marine infrastructure throughout South Florida.
